The Story Behind Syncline Energy

Syncline began with the vision of Phil Galloway back in 2005 following a 20 year career in the energy sector. Up to then, he had held global executive positions with some of the world's biggest companies and completed major projects covering finance, executive management and engineering.

Galloway established Syncline with the intention of lowering energy costs and building great projects using clean energy and water technology.  Since 2005, the company has completed some sector leading developments such as the $180M Bannerton Solar Park, two commercial geothermal projects and a micro-grid solutions in Australia's remote Northern Territory.

Syncline also works with infrastructure and agriculture funds, industrial companies, water authorities, first nation communities and tourism operators to help green their portfolios and deliver tangible business outcomes.

From our experience, the best projects come from a collaboration of internal and external resources supported by world class expertise.  And we work with the very best.

Syncline: a cup of stratified rock where the layers slope upwards from the axis.

When hunting for oil and gas, explorers look for downward sloping 'anticlines' that trap hydrocarbons in the rock strata.   A geological syncline is the opposite of that oil industry objective.  Synclines can also hold the hot geothermal water that is one of the ways we can deliver clean energy for our projects.

This is emblematic of our approach; we look in nature for better solutions to the world's energy challenges.
